Shashi has been making art since she was a young girl. She was primairly influenced by her grandmothers who encouraged her in different ways. One was a painter and the other a homemaker.
Shashi became a massage therapist in 1996. Since then she's added meditation, yoga and kirtan chanting to her life. These different forms of body awareness, primarily orginating in India and other ancient civilizations, created a great interest in traditional Indian art like Mehindi and Mandalas.

Mandalas have proven to be a great meditation just in their creation. They combine creative potential as well as pricision and tradition. Mandalas are traditionally sacred meditation tools very often dedicated through sacred geometry to differingdeities.

Shashi also enjoys painting on both refined and raw silk, as well as working with water colors. Her main focus, in all of her art work is always color and how color affects moods, feelings, and emotions as well as spiritual and physical expressions. Shashi is a channel for expression through color and shapes, bringing thoughtfulness and increasing consciousness through the artwork she creates.
